Gallery Wall
Wow! It's been a busy weekend. The highlight was a great street party last night. It was so fun to meet a lot of our neighbors. We have a really great community here and I love that.
On to the big subject of the day. This is one of those projects that have been on my to-do list for a while. In one corner of our living room we have had 2 walls that have been empty since we moved in. Normally there is a rug in the corner for Teddy to sit when we have company and need him to stay in one spot. Since there isn't usually furniture there I really wanted to add some artwork to the walls to dress them up. I knew I wanted to do a gallery wall but really didn't know where to start.
The 2 key pieces that finally got me ready to plan this wall out was the print from Target with the quote "Don't count the days, make the days count" and a photo of Rex and I from our spring photo session. When we got our photos printed we apparently got some really crazy sizes and I have struggled to find frames to put them in. Seriously, I've been searching for frames that are 6 x 9 for months. I had no idea that was such an odd size. This frame (it's a 12 x 16) I found at Hobby Lobby on clearance for $3! It was the exact size I needed but the color was ugly! I grabbed a can of spray chalk paint and gave it a couple coats of paint. Then I went to Lowes and had them cut me a piece of glass to fit into the frame. Finally, about 2 weeks ago I started taping out the layout on the wall to visualize the pieces that I wanted to go up on the wall.
This afternoon I decided I was going to start/finish this wall by the end of the night. The two main pieces I actually used nails to hang them on the wall but everything else I used Command hooks. I love using these to hang stuff. We have plaster walls and banging nails in them is not something I like to do a whole lot. It took me a couple hours to get it all up but I'm really happy with how it turned out. The great thing is that if I want to change anything up, I can just pull them down and put something else up.

I'm so glad I was able to get this finished! I love starting my week with a completed project. And, no more bare walls! What do you think? Hope you all have a great week!
Be sure and follow me here as well!
I love it :)
