Bondo and the doors

I can't believe it's been so long since my last post.  Sorry guys!  Things have been nuts-o around here.  I keep thinking all the stuff I have to do is going to slow down but it's been the opposite.  I'm home tonight feeling a little crumby and pretty tired, but hoping I can get plenty of rest tonight.

This is a really big week at our little house.  We are having new exterior doors installed, both front and side doors.  As well as getting a couple of electrical projects done.  I feel like tomorrow is Christmas, except I know what I'm getting and I'm the one buying it.

These doors have been on our to-do list from the day we closed on the house.  They are don't open and close well, they're drafty and just in all around bad condition.  And, if you can see from the picture, we have bondo on our door frame.  I'm sure bondo works well for cars and the like, but I really have hated that red patch on my door frame.

I really want my house to be warm and inviting and these doors do not show that.  These doors say, look at the abuse I've taken.  These doors look like they've gone through a lot.  With everything that this house has had to take, I really just want to love on it and bring it back to it's former glory.  I want it to look loved and cared for.  I want to erase the neglect and make it shine.

So, tomorrow we will be saying good bye to these two doors and hello to a new look and new feel.  I hope you are excited to see the transformation!

Stay tuned.....

  1. Ah Christmas, the universal excitement. It's great that you're able to get some of this work done and around the home and I hope you really enjoy it and are able to get it all done without too much stress. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Post pictures please! Thank you for sharing this.
